William Martin Helmick, age 78, of Springfield, WV, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation & Nursing.

Born March 31, 1934 in Moorefield, WV, he was the son of the late Dewey L. and Nevada C. Miller Helmick.

He was of the Protestant faith. He had owned and operated his own funeral graveside set up business. He enjoyed hunting.

William is survived by his wife, Retha M. Fishel of Ft. Ashby, WV, one son, Robert Lee Helmick of Weston, WV, one daughter, Tena Marie Helmick of Springfield, WV, one sister, Hazel Combs of Rawlings, MD, one brother, Roger “Pete” Helmick of Hancock, MD, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Lee Helmick.

Services and interment will be private.
