Andrew William Deli, age 84, of Berkeley Springs, WV, formerly of Ferndale, MD, passed away to be with the Good Lord surrounded by his loving family at his home on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
He was born in Ronco, PA August 14, 1929 the son of the late Alexander and Beatrice Pearl Torok Deli.
He was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, gardening, and current events. He found great pleasure spending time with family. His life long career was in the military, the defense industry and he retired from the Department of Defense.
While stationed at Ft. Meade, MD, he met his wife of 60 years, Fay Elizabeth Trebbien Deli. Also surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Catherine Alexandra and Scott Bircher of Keyser, WV, sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Alexander Deli of Martinsburg, WV and David Michael and Sandy Deli of Parkton, MD, brother and sister-in-law Frank and Rose Deli of Farmington, WV, six grandchildren, Christopher Deli of Cockeysville, MD, Bryan Deli of Parkton, MD, Allyson Jishi of Baltimore, MD, Rachel Burd of Keyser, WV, Sarah Burd and Lisa Burd, both of Westminster, MD, great granddaughter Olivia, nieces and nephews, Michael and Karen Deli of Purcellville, VA, Michelle Bozek and Betty and Mike Moser, all of Masontown, PA, Janice and David Capan, Patty and Bill David, Beatrice Dyer and Steve and Lee Deli, all of Uniontown, PA and several great and great grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Beres, Susan Peterman and an infant sister Mary Delia and five brothers, Alexander Deli, Jr., Stephen Deli, Sr., Peter Deli and two infant brothers, Michael Deli and Louis Deli.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Jackman officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard will be at 1:00 p.m.in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, MD.
